We understand that hardship can come in many forms: loss, trauma, financial struggle, isolation, injustice, mental health challenges, or unexpected life circumstances. We believe people deserve access to resources and caring support systems that help them rebuild and heal.

Our mission is not only to help people through crisis,and hardship, but to restore hope, strengthen families, empower individuals, and remind those struggling in silence that there are people willing to stand beside them.

About The Founder
Cynthia Hughes is, first and foremost, a mother and wife—and proudly, a fighter for those forgotten.
A lifelong New Jersey resident, she is the founder of The Hughes Foundation, an organization born from both personal loss and unshakable resolve.
After losing her beloved nephew, a proud United States Marine, Cynthia discovered a painful truth: while hardship is inevitable, solutions are always within reach—especially with the right support system. From that belief, The Hughes Foundation was created.
The mission is clear: to stand with everyday Americans facing overwhelming challenges—financial, emotional, or occupational—and to empower them through connection, compassion, and action. Cynthia leads with heart and conviction, driven by a calling to ensure no one walks through hardship alone.
Through bold advocacy, strategic support, and unwavering resolve, The Hughes Foundation is committed to building real solutions for real people—because when we lift each other up, we rise together.
